Ronald Johnson Obituary

Dad, it's been a while. You have been reunited in death with your son, Shane, who passed on 09 Aug 2024. Looks like I am the last one remaining, please save me a spot in heaven. Until we all meet again.

Dad, it has been 15 years since I said goodbye. You are dearly missed. You should see your grandson and granddaughter now...they have grown so much and are so smart.

We love you and miss you.

Hard to believe it has been 14 years since you have gone. So many milestones have been achieved with our family, I know you are there witnessing each of those and rejoicing with us. We will keep a candle burning in our hearts for you. Until we see each other again.

Just thinking of you as I always do, wishing you were here to see your grandson Geoffrey, and granddaughter Julie.

Dad, it has been 3 years since your passing; you are still deeply missed. I wanted to tell you that you are a grandfather of a wonderful little boy, Geoffrey A. Johnson who was born back on 04 April 2009. I know you are looking down and smiling upon him. I will certainly tell him about Grampa Johnson and show him those old family movies that were transefered to DVD.

I will miss Ron's great depth of knowledge and experience, integrity, and professionalism. I offer my condolences to his large circle of family and friends.

I only had the pleasure of meeting Ron once, at a Navy Cultural Resources Conference this past May, but I immediately recognized him as a wonderful, kind, intelligent man. The historic preservation community will feel the loss deeply.

I am deeply saddened by Ron's passing and my prayers go out to Nina and their families. Ron and I were young Officers in a great Battalion and had many great times together.
I smile every time I think of Camp Shelby, where Ron was the Judge for the first ever Officer initiation. He did so many, many great things for this Country and taught so many young Officers how to be Officers and effective leaders. He even helped my daughter get her first job as a site archeologist working with someone he knew in Memphis. Knowing he is not with us will be hard on me, because sometimes he was bigger than life and you expect him to always be there when you need him.

My heart goes out to you at this time and in the days ahead.
