Rolynda Kopacka Obituary

KOPACKA, Rolynda Rolynda Jester Kopacka, 58, of Charleston, SC, died Wednesday, September 17, 2008, at home after battling leukemia for nine months. Rolynda was born on July 4, 1950, the daughter of Roland and Gladys Jester. She graduated from James Island High School and attended Charleston Southern University. She loved the Lord, life, people, and singing. She lived a life of service to others, singing professionally (the Sound of Satisfaction) and working as a hairdresser in the Charleston area and in Nashville, Tennessee. In Nashville, she sang and toured with the renowned Christ Church Choir. Among the churches she served were James Island Baptist Church, James Island Christian Church, and Life Christian Assembly. She is survived by her husband, Bill Kopacka of Charleston; her son and his wife, Shane and Kelley Whealton of Chincoteague, Virginia; two grandchildren, Dillon and Sofia Whealton; her brother Jimmy Jester of Wadmalaw Island; her niece and her husband, Joanie and Bobby Howan, and their daughter Alison of Kentucky; her nephew Robbie Jester of Wadmalaw Island; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Kris and Chip Lucas and their family; and her father-in-law, William Kopacka, Sr. As one of her songs affirmed, she made it through life and triumphed because she had a lot of her Father in her. Friends are invited to a memorial service at James Island Christian Church at 4:00 on Sunday, September 21, 2008. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pet Helpers or the music program of Life Christian Assembly. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL.
