Rolland Eugene Wittler SUMMERVILLE - Rolland Eugene Wittler, 85, of Summerville, South Carolina, husband of Frieda Althoff Wittler died Thursday, March 28, 2013. The relatives and friends of Rolland Wittler are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Friday. April 5, 2013 in Old Fort Baptist Church, 10505 Dorchester Road, Summerville, SC at 10:30 am. Burial will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Quincy Memorial Park in Quincy, Illinois. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. The family will receive friends at the church. Rolland was born on September 22, 1927 in Sublette, Illinois, son of the late Lawrence and Luella Roehm Wittler. He worked as a farmer for many years and served on the Farm Bureau Board. Rolland was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was active in the community and the Mendon Congregational Church where he served as a Deacon. He also served on the Adams County School Board and the Adams FS Board. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frieda Wittler of Summerville, SC; his son Donald Wittler of Port Orange, FL; his daughters, Janice Glenn and her husband, Tim of Marengo, IL and Sandy Stoll and her husband, Rodney, of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Cathyrn Santhosam and her husband, Immanuel, Angela Campion and her husband, Jason, Kyle Glenn and his wife, Jacki, Taylor Stoll, and Regan Stoll; five great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruth Holmes of Jacksonville, IL and Edith Brock and her husband, Alva, of Penny Farms, FL. Rolland was preceded in death by his sister, Vernelda Orr, and his grandson, Donnie Mac Wittler. Memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
