Roberta Hoffecker Obituary

Roberta Clayton Hoffecker CONCORD, NC - Roberta Clayton Hoffecker, 98, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at her home with her family by her side, after a period of declining health. Roberta's family is planning a memorial service to celebrate her life. Born January 27, 1925 in Dorchester, South Carolina, Roberta was a daughter of the late Lee and Elizabeth Way Clayton. In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth Austin, as well as her husband, Charles D. Hoffecker, Jr. Those who remain to cherish her memory include her son, Charles D. Hoffecker, III (Stephanie) of Concord as well as 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She graduated from St. George High School and Lander College in Greenwood, SC with a Bachelor's degree in Education and went on to teach mathematics at North Charleston High School, Madison Junior High School in Tampa, Florida, and Garrett High School in North Charleston. She met and married her husband in Charleston and was married for 69 years before his death in 2017. They retired early and spent 30 summers in Little Switzerland, NC. She was active in Park Circle Presbyterian Church and Spruce Pine Presbyterian Church. She spent the last 17 years living with her son and daughter in law in Concord, NC.
