Robert Waller CHARLESTON - Robert Moate Waller, 94, of Charleston, South Carolina, entered peacefully into eternal rest with his family by his side on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel, 232 Calhoun Street at 10:30 am. Interment at Magnolia Cemetery will follow the service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday prior to the service from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., Downtown Chapel. Bobby was born February 22, 1931, in Eatonton, Georgia, son of William I. Waller, Sr., and Elizabeth Moate Waller. He served in the Air Force in Panama during the Korean War. He moved to Charleston in 1953 and raised his family here. He was an Office Manager with CSX Railroad for 37 years. He also co-founded the Playhouse Daycare in 1969, with his wife, Ora. Mr. Waller was preceded in death by his parents, William I. Waller, Sr., and Elizabeth Moate Waller, his wife, Ora Elizabeth Waller, and a son, Charles Brett Waller of Charleston, SC, and two brothers, Dr. Charles Eugene Waller and William I. "Billy" Waller. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Elizabeth (Beth) Waller Smith of Chesapeake, VA and her husband, Doug Smith; his son, Robert Martin Waller of Charleston, SC and his wife, Susan Waller; two grandsons, Jason Smith and Kevin Smith; two granddaughters, Kaylie Carter and Chelsey Creel and six great- grandchildren, Landon and Britton Smith, Jackson and Bennett Carter and Henry and Eliza Creel.
