Robert Wallace HARTSVILLE, SC - Born on October 28, 1927 in Cheraw, South Carolina, Robert Thornwell Wallace, Jr., 86; a loving dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at his home in the Ashland Community of Lee County, South Carolina. Mr. Wallace lived in grace and was dedicated to his faith, family, and his many friends in Hartsville and the surrounding communities. In his career as a successful businessman operating Robert Wallace & Son for more than 35 years, his compassion for his customers and hard work were ever evident. He was a fine man - quiet, strong and resilient. Robert Wallace was the son of Mr. Robert Thorwell Wallace, Sr. and Mrs. Lillie Matheson Wallace of Cheraw. He was preceded in death by his late wife Eleanor Boan Wallace, his son Glenn E. Wallace, Sr. and his sister, Lillie Mae Phillips. Surviving are his wife, Tessie (Doll) Moore, his sister, Wilma Chapman, his daugthers and sons-in-law; Beth and Ronnie Amerson of Hartsville; Eleanor and Bill Hurtes of Charleston, SC; and daughter-in-law Roberta Wallace of Savannah, Ga.; grandchildren, Jimmy (Denise) Amerson, Julie (Robert) McCutchen, both of Hartsville; Meg (Jeff) Folk of Charleston; Matthew Hurtes of New Zealand; Glenn (Paula) Wallace and Christen Wallace, both of Savannah; and five great grandchildren, Jay, Amy Beth, Thorn, Madison, and Trace. "Mr. Robert" is also survived by, Deb (Danny) Hall, Kathy Moore; grandchildren, Clay (Meredith) Hall, Dean (Elizabeth) Hall, Robert Moore, Janie Moore Byrd; great grandchildren, Miles, Barnes, Sara Preston, Segars, Chloe, Charley, Isabel, Eliza, Flora, and Carlos. Visitation for family and friends of Mr. Wallace will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 4 - 6 PM at 120 Erwin Road in Hartsville. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Magnolia Cemetery in Hartsville. Reverend Dr. Beverly Kennedy will officiate and Brown Pennington Atkins Funeral Home is serving the fmaily. Memorials may be made to the Glenn E.
