Robert Wactor Obituary

WACTOR, Robert ORANGEBURG - Robert "Bobby" Simmons Wactor, Jr., 76, of Tolly Ganly Circle, Orangeburg, SC, passed away Monday afternoon, April 20, 2009, at the Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kristen Richardson-Frick and Rev. George E. Strait officiating. Mr. Wactor was born in Elloree, a son of the late John William Wactor and Evelyn Ulmer Wactor. He was a graduate of Orangeburg High School where he excelled in sports and was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl. He attended Clemson College and Presbyterian College. Mr. Wactor was retired from Orangeburg Gin where he served as President. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Mr. Wactor was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was predeceased by a brother Charles Clinton Wactor. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Reba Pittman Wactor, of the home; three sons, Robert S. Wactor, Jr., and wife Dyna, Orangeburg, Charles Clinton "Clint" Wactor and wife Melanie, Columbia, John William Wactor, II and wife Scarlett, Summerville; six grandchildren, Johnny, Lance and Grant Wactor, all of Summerville, Madison Wactor and Bradley Wactor, Columbia, and Hector Chaparro of Orangeburg; and sister, Harriet Reid Strait and husband Rev.
