Robert Varnes Obituary

Beth and girls,
I am just now getting the news about Rob. There are no words to describe how my heart breaks for you. You all are near and dear to us though we live miles apart. Please know that the impact Rob had on our life will never be forgotten. His example of a godly life is one that George has always admired and will continue to. We don't know what the months and years ahead will bring, but we know your faith is strong - though shaken - and are praying you through this sorrowful time. Rob will be missed so much. We love you guys

You all are an incredible blessing to anyone who is around you. We deeply mourn your loss and are praying for God to comfort you.

Dearest Beth, Catherine, Elizabeth and Rebecca- I just heard tonight from Marianne about the loss of your husband and dad....words can't express my heart that goes out to you all. I think I might have met him on a number of occasions in the PCA hallway and understood he was an amazing man and soo much loved Jesus and his family. You all are in our prayers and will continue to be.

Tonight, I received the sad news of Robert's death. Although I didn't know Robert, I'm encouraged by the words from many entries that knew him as a 'Christian Man', joyous to be around, gentle, had an infectious smile, encourager, etc. which should be celebrated. In sympathy, I grieve your loss. Please know that you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I know I can speak for the tennis team at Academic Magnet. We love you and we are here for you anytime. There is no way to process this loss with out the support of others and time. From what I have gathered meeting your family, your faith is extremely strong. I am just so sorry that you are grieving. Your father was amazing just look at how wonderful you turned out. So sorry to hear the sad news about Robert, however, I do know from working with him that he was a good man and a man of faith so we have hope of seeing him again. How wonderful that will be! My prayers are with all of you as you grieve his absence.

Robert was such a great example of what a christian man should be. His joy was always evident by the smile on his face. The confidence he felt knowing where his ultimate home would be is testimony for all to learn from and remember. You are all in my prayers.

Dear Beth, Catherine, Elizabeth, Rebecca, I am so sorry for your loss. When Rob dropped in at the PCA Office while I was honored to work with you Beth, and all the years you girls attended PCA... I always smiled after his visits. Robert Varnes was one of the tallest, quietest, gentlest, most polite, humble, Jesus loving encouragers I ever met. He would show up out of no where, with his broad quiet smile, speak gentle words of praise and thanks for the service done making us feel like Jesus Himself had visited. Then, as quickly as he arrived, he would quietly disappear. I'm convinced Rob Varnes is "Safe in the Arms of Jesus". I pray God grant you Beth, Catherine, Elizabeth and Rebecca, full freedom to grieve your precious loss, accept the love showered on you by friends, and fully believe there will be a happy reunion forever with Rob and Christ Jesus our Lord as I Thessalonians 4: 13-18 promises. I love you and this sends you too a big holy love hug~~~

Our sincerest condolences. I'll always remember Robert's smile as being infectious. He made one feel good just being around him. He was a true gentlemen. I'll also remember how the two of you went to task on your house in Riverview. You both dared to do more than most people and you both had a great time doing it together.

My heart was broke when I received the word about your dear husband and father. I could not think of anything else Thursday night as I tried to sleep. I spent much time praying for you. Robert was an amazing man. My husband worked for him for 12 years and thought highly of him. We enjoyed reading about how much he loved his family in the Christmas letters that we received and now hold so dear. I pray that God will wrap his arms around you all and comfort you through your loss. I know that God is smiling as he welcomes Robert home.
