Robert Strickland Obituary

Robert E. Strickland N. CHARLESTON - Robert E. Strickland, 85, of North Charleston, SC, husband of Ann Strickland went to his heavenly home Tuesday evening, August 23, 2011 after an extended illness. Bob was born in Hartford, CT on December 11, 1925 to the late Seward H. Strickland and Marion J. Strickland. He was a US Army veteran and Army Reserve retiree. Bob retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company, Sikes Radio and was a member of Deer Park Baptist Church. Bob was a Mason. He is survived by his daughters: Marion Schneider, Barbara Pulicicchio, Nancy Graham and Jennifer Ruddy; step-daughters: Brenda Brooks, Sonya Carter and Becky SanSouci; brother, Wesley Strickland of S. Winsdor, CT; sister Doris Rosevear of Wallingford, CT; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Kathryn Strickland; and his brothers, Arthur Strickland and Wallace Strickland. The funeral service will be held in Gethsemane Baptist Church in St. Matthews, SC. Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. The burial with military honors will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTHWOODS CHAPEL, 2180 Greenridge Road Thursday, August 25, 2011 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 4975 Lacrosse Road, Suite 200, North Charleston, SC 29406. From pain to Peace, from home to Heaven, God Bless. Dear Miss Ann and Family,
Please accept our sincere sympathy during your time of loss. Bob and Ann were great comfort to our family during our dad's illness and death. Ann has occupied a very special place in our hearts for forty plus years. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We pray for peace and comfort from our Great God.
