Robert Stein Obituary

Robert Francis "Bob" Stein WALTERBORO - Robert Francis "Bob" Stein, otherwise known as "Coach", of Walterboro, SC, passed away at home on July 1st, surrounded by his family. Coach died after a tough battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 65. He was born on June 5, 1949 to Bernice and the late Henry J. Stein. He began a 30 year coaching career at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf and coached at various schools throughout the Southeast. He completed his coaching career at Colleton Prep as the Athletic Director, and head football and baseball coach. After his coaching career, he began a successful landscaping and design company. He was a scratch golfer...if he was keeping score...and he loved to travel. He enjoyed entertaining his friends, visiting his family and watching the Terriers and Gamecocks. He is survived by his loving wife, Ramona; daughter, Jennifer Sibila (Ken) of Glen Arm, MD; and sons, Robert Stein (Paige) of Holly Springs, NC, Tyler Pinckney, of Grover, and Justin Pinckney (Lauren) of Greenville, SC. He leaves behind his siblings, Henry J. Stein, Jr., Marie Giancatarino and Thomas G. Stein. He was "Paw" to his grandchildren, Matthew, Jacqueline and Christopher Sibila, Sophie Grace Stein, and Jackson Pinckney. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life at the chapel of Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home, 117 Paul Street, Walterboro, SC, Saturday afternoon at 1:00. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The V Foundation for Cancer Research (c/o The Jim Valvano Kids Klassic), 106 Towerview Court, Cary, NC 27513. A true remodel I could call him anytime of the day about a landscaping or business question and we would spend 20 mins or more on the phone just talking about different things. Thoughts and prayers for everyone may Bob rest in peace
