Robert Sherer Obituary




SHERER, Robert Robert Francis Sherer, 77, of Goose Creek, the husband of Regina Moore Sherer, died on Thursday, January 20, 2005 at his home. Born in New York City, New York on June 22, 1927. Robert lived in New York City and Maplewood, New Jersey before moving to Goose Creek, SC in 1997. He was a graduate of New York City Trade and Technical School. Robert was a -World War II veteran, serving in the US Navy and later in the US Navy Reserve. He worked in electrical maintenance with Automatic Switch, Florham Park, NJ, retiring in December 1996 after 37 years. He was a member of IBEW Local 3 Electrical Worker. He is survived by his wife, Regina, four children: Robert F. Sherer of Goose Creek, SC; Regina Powell of Flemington, NJ; Judith Waker of Lawrenceville, GA and Daniel T. Sherer of Berkley Heights, NJ; a sister: Sister Mary Terence, R.S.M. and three grandchildren: Steven Waker, Regina and James Powell. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 23rdfrom 6-8PM with the family reciting the Rosary at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Goose Creek Chapel, 100 S. Goose Creek Blvd., (Hwy 52) Goose Creek. Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Monday, January 24that Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 510 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek. Interment with military honors will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens, Hwy 17A, Moncks Corner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund, 510 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, SC, 29445.
