Robert Schommer Obituary

Robert "Bob" Martin Schommer went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2008 at the age of 90 years old. He was born on February 25, 1918 in Beavertown, Ohio to Frank and Elsie Schommer. Bob loved the Lord, his family and his work. He met his wife of 69 years, Roberta, on a blind date and they were married not long after on November 11, 1938. He only "retired" from Liqua-Tech Corp. two years ago. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother, son and friend. He was most happy when he knew "Mama" was fine. He will be greatly missed. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elsie Schommer and his brother, Gene Schommer. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Schommer, sister, Kathleen Brodeen and her husband Marvin Brodeen of Seal Beach, CA, five daughters, Lee Kerr and her husband Tom Kerr of Sparks, NV, Joy Trent of Laguna Niguel, CA, Kathy Schommer of Lockeford, CA, Marta Sligh and her husband, Jim Sligh of Ukiah, CA and Lori McFall of Milwaukee, OR, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. 12:00 noon at Eversole Mortuary, graveside services 1 p.m. at Russian River Cemetery and a Memorial Service at New Life Community Church at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 28th.
