Robert Porter Obituary

Robert Porter SUMMERVILLE - Robert Hampton Porter, 79, of Summerville, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. The relatives and friends of Robert Porter are invited to attend his visitation from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Friday, June 9, 2023, at Parks Funeral Home, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Following the visitation, everyone is invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service at Summerville Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Charleston Animal Society. Robert was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on August 18, 1943. He was the son of William and Ida Mae Porter. He was a graduate of the University of Louisville. Robert worked for General Electric before pursuing his passion in a career in trim carpentry. He loved all types of woodworking, golfing, fishing (especially in the Florida Keys), and spending time with friends and family. Robert is survived by his son, William Porter (Sara); granddaughter, Madison Porter; grandson, Jordan Porter; brothers, Thomas Porter (Peg) and William Porter (Pat); and his son-in- law, Watson Mims (April).
