Robert Penrose Obituary

PENROSE, Robert Robert Jamieson Penrose, 85, of Seabrook Island, SC, and Mercerville, NJ, died Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC. Born in Trenton, NJ, he has been a Mercerville resident for 53 years. Mr. Penrose was a graphic artist retiring from the New Jersey State Police. He was a Disabled U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Seabrook Country Club and a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Hamilton, NJ. Son of the late Amos and Janet Jamieson Penrose, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Geraldine Meyer Penrose; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Robert Lorey of Randolph, NJ; a brother and sister-in-law, Erwin and Mary Penrose of Trenton, NJ; a sister-in-law, Helenmae Penrose of Manchester, NJ, and two grandsons, Ryan and Evan Lorey. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Hamilton, NJ, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m., until time of service. Burial will follow at Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing Twp., NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church Building Fund, 350 White Horse Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08610; flowers are welcome and would be appreciated.
