Robert Minton Obituary

Robert "Bob" Minton MT. PLEASANT - Robert "Bob" Minton, age 82, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Tucson, AZ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. He fought a strong 13-year fight against cancer. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose Minton; son, Robert (Rob) Minton of Oviedo, FL; son, Jeffrey Minton of Mt Pleasant, SC; and 6 grandchildren, Victoria, Nicholas, Oliver, Isaac, Andrew and Austin; two brothers, Tom Minton and Frank Minton; sister, Jeanie Fambro. Bob and his wife Rose moved to Mt. Pleasant from Tucson, Arizona after 37 years in 2007 to be closer to family. He retired from the Department of Defense after 35 years. His positions varied from encrypting, traveling overseas to Director of United States Army Material Command. Bob dedicated his life to the Lord, raising his sons with family values and serving his community. He was instrumental in the development and growth of several Churches of Christ in Arizona, New Mexico and South Carolina. He served on the Habitat of Tucson board for 15 years as President, Treasurer and board member. He loved to play golf and fish. The family will have a "Celebration of Life" with Pastor Jeff Taylor, a longtime family friend, on January 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Wild Dunes Resort, 5757 Palm Blvd., Isle of Palms at the Palmetto Hall. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Habitat for Humanity of Tucson, 3501 N. Mountain Ave., Tucson AZ 85719 (www.habitattucson.org).
