Robert McAuliffe MT. PLEASANT - Robert "Bob" J. McAuliffe, age 86, of Mount Pleasant, SC, died surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. He was born on March 5, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Florence McAuliffe. Bob graduated from Oklahoma City University, where he played basketball and baseball on scholarship. He enjoyed golfing with friends, NY Yankees baseball and Notre Dame Football. His biggest joy was family visits and sharing stories about his grandchildren with friends at his favorite place, Dunleavy's Pub. Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Maryann McAuliffe, his older brother, Thomas McAuliffe, and is survived by his four children, Megan Clark (Michael), Barbara Hoban (James), Robert J. McAuliffe, Jr. (Kristen), Timothy McAuliffe (Jeannine); and 9 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Friends and family are invited to McAlister-Smith Funeral Home Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, August 17, 2024, for Visitation from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM with a Service at 11:00 AM. Committal and Farewell will be attended afterwards by immediate family members at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
