Robert Marlowe Obituary

Robert Huger Marlowe MT. PLEASANT - Robert Huger Marlowe, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, died on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Roper St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Conway, SC, to Milton Huger and Maybel Holley Marlowe and was the oldest of two children. Survivng are Pamela A. Marlower, wife of 35 years; one sister, Amelia M. Huggins of Myrtle Beach, SC, and her two children and their children. Also survived by two daughters and one son, four grandsons, three granddaughrters and one great-grrandson. Also survived by cousins former House of Representative Marshall Cain and wife, Ann, and their four children and also his cousin and movie actress, Lisa Persky. Predeceased by his grandson, Ryan Charles LaSalle. Mr. Marlowe worked for many years as a banker in Conway, SC, also was a lineman for Santee Cooper. He served in the Army Reserves for many years with his buddy, John Jennerette of N. Myrtle Beach. He also served time on the rescue squad in the Conway area and served a lot of people lives including a car submerged under water and safely rescued all that were trapped. The last 50 years he resided in Mt. Pleasant, SC, and he sold insurance. He also loved sports, swimming, golfing, hunting, fishing, and tennis. He especially loved his motorcycles and riding them. He was a member of Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Ion in Mt. Plessant. Funeral Servies to be held at his church, Holy Ascension Orthodox Church, on Monday, June 19, 2017, at 10:00 am, 265 N.
