MOUNT GILEAD - John Paul Meimer, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, age 79 of Mount Gilead passed away Friday August 29, 2025, at his home. He was born on August 25, 1946, in Massillon, Ohio to the late John and Marie (Bender) Meimer.
John was a graduate of Massillon High School then went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Malone University and his master's degree from Adelphi University. John worked for MedCentral in their I.T. Helpdesk Department until his retirement. He was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship where he helped with the sound and computer work for the church.
John and Eddie Lou spent their life raising their children on the family dairy farm. John enjoyed spending time at the Worthington Farmers Market where he and Eddie Lou sold their Pleiades Maple Products.
On June 9, 1968, John married the love of his life Eddie Lou in Mount Gilead at Gilead Friends Church. They spent 57 years together. Eddie Lou survives in Mount Gilead.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children: James "Jim' (Mary) Meimer of Mount Gilead and Terri (Jeremy) Kestner of Sylvania; eight grandchildren: Ryan, Colton Jacob, Hunter, Cody, Lane, Layla, and Jace.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his grandson Ethan Kestner and his brother Ronald Meimer.
Friends may call on Sunday September 7, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM until the start of the funeral service at 4:00 PM at Abundant Life Fellowship, 4355 County Road 20, Mount Gilead, Ohio 43338. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider the Abundant Life Fellowship Church.
