Dearest Susan and Laura, We cannot begin to tell you how much we are sorry for your loss. Bob was such an incredible individual who greatly impacted the way we look at the world. It might be hard to realize, as you have lived with him, but for an objective experience of Bob, it was the way he made everyone feel important, the way he naturally included everyone, the way he built relationships as if you just knew right from the start that you were part of his life, or more accurately, that he was part of yours and that was all good. We will never forget his bringing the girls home from school--and how they had usually "talked him into" going to Winstead's in one form or another. Bob would come up to the porch and say, "Oh, yes, we had to stop over at Windstead's on the way home. This afternoon the girls were particularly thirsty." He was a grandfather to our girls who never had one. He was always so stately, I think we can all say the mayor has truly left the building. All our love, Al, Elaine, Jacqueline and Chandler.

Sue and I just learned of Bob's passing last Friday and certainly are sad, probably more so because we were in Isle of Palms in June 2008 celebrating our 50th and had all of the kids and grandchildren (32 total). You know my feelings for Bob as our neighbor in the early years. We look forward to the Memorial Service here in Kansas City.

You have our deepest sympathies and prayers.

Susan and family, Bob was one of the best people I've ever known. He always made me smile and he always told me the truth. I had the pleasure of working many years with him at Constable Hodgins and watching his children grow up, him getting married, Laura being born and coming in to color at the office. He will truly be missed by many. My love and prayers to all the family and if I can do anything for any of you, please contact me.

Susan,Dan and Kelley Family. Sorry to hear about Bob. He was a GOOD FRIEND and a person I have always thought a lot of. For the past few years when I would think about Bob I would always smile. He always made me feel better about whatever situation we had gotten ourselves into when we were in business. A First Class Person. Please let us know if we can ever be of help.
