Robert Jordan Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Seigler Jordan Charleston - Robert "Bobby" Jordan, 86, of Charleston, South Carolina, widower of Clementina "Tina" Bunch Jordan entered into eternal rest at the Village at Summerville (Presbyterian Home) Monday, February 8, 2016. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Second Presbyterian Church, 342 Meeting Street at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Churchyard. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC. DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Mr. Jordan was born September 20, 1929 in Charleston, SC the son of Fred Jordan and Marie Wolfe Jordan. He was a graduate of Charleston High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. Bobby retired after a long successful career with MetLife Financial Services. Bobby was a life-long active member of the Second Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder among other positions. He particularly enjoyed welcoming new members of the church as well as cooking and serving Saturday morning breakfast in the Fellowship Hall to both members and visitors alike. Bobby was a Life Member of the Elks BPOE 242. He and Tina thoroughly enjoyed dancing and socializing with friends at the Elks Club and the Charleston Rifle Club. Bobby loved golf and particularly the Elks Club golf tournaments. Once he could no longer play, Bobby still enjoyed spending time at the "Muni". Whether it was morning coffee with friends or dabbling on the putting green, it was one of his favorite spots. He is survived by one son, Robert Waring Jordan, Sr. (Roseann) of Charleston, SC; one daughter, Tina Marie McCarthy of Aiken, SC; three grandchildren: Robert Waring Jordan, Jr. (Rachel) of Charleston, SC, Caroline Rose Jordan of Charleston, SC and Daniel Robert McCarthy, IV of Aiken, SC. Bobby was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Tina B. Jordan and a son, Bradley Seigler Jordan. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The Second Presbyterian Church, 342 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29403 or to The Village at Summerville Presbyterian Church Community, 201 West 9th North Street #140, Summerville, SC 29483.
