Robert Johnson Obituary

Robert Calvin Johnson JASPER, GA - Master Chief Robert "Bobby" Calvin Johnson, USN, Ret., of Jasper, GA, entered into eternal rest on June 2, 2009. The son of Robert Calvin Johnson and Sue Eda Spann Johnson, he was born on January 16, 1927 in Richmond, VA. He was reared in Charleston, SC. Bobby graduated from The High School of Charleston and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 at age 17. He retired from the Navy after 31 years of service and was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He served the majority of his military career on CINCPAC Staff at Camp Smith, HI. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha Weidler Johnson; son, Robert Calvin Johnson and his wife, Val; daughter, Susan Johnson Greene and her husband, CDR Bobby Greene, USN, Ret.; son, Kenneth Weidler Johnson and his wife, Jeanette; grandson, David Greene; granddaughter, Jennifer Greene; brother, Lt. Col. Richard Earl Johnson, USAF, Ret. and his wife, Sue; sister, Shirley Johnson Dillard and her husband Robert and sister, Fay Johnson von Lehe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, 875 North Randolph Street, Suite 225, Arlington, VA 22203 or the charity of one's choice.
