Robert Hagood Obituary

Over the past 11 years, Robert has crossed my mind more times than there are stars in the sky. Love never ends.

I still remember that cute 8 yr . old with big brown eyes and a great smile. His memory and that of his wonderful family are precious to me.

The last time we spoke, he told me good bye. He seldom called me by my name and always called me baby. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I remember Roberto as a child in Barranquilla, with his big brown eyes and sweet smile. How I wish I could have known him as an adult. My sincere condolences to Jimmy, Johnny, Paula, and all the Hagood family for the loss of Robert. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

You were a brave man. I wish I could have appreciated you better in life, and may God forgive me for that.

I had the good fortune to meet Robert H. at OC in Charleston, SC as I had the opportunity to do some work there for some time between 2004 and 2008. Since then I've only been able to visit a few times, much to my own disappointment. He came to call me Larry "from Chicago" as I seemed to form a habit of mentioning where I was from way too much when I would visit. Robert was a humorous, insightful, cantankerous, and extremely faithful man. I was lucky to know him and grateful that we at least had some time together in October 2011. Rest in peace good man, your spirit lives on in so many people who love and will remember you.

I just heard of this very sad news. I always thought Robert was a very dear pearso, kind, best qualities. The last time I saw him was at his mother's, Helen, funeral I regret not to have kept in touch with him. I have great memories of him, Johnson, Poli when we used to get together at their home on the Battert with Helen and Colnel Johnson - that I worked for him in Bogotá when he was manager of Sears. Robert was an "angel on earth" and his life was an inspiration for all who had the honor of knowing him. My family and I will be forever grateful to him. Rest in peace, Robert.

Robert could spin straw into gold. He also said what he thought with kindness and if a hand reached out Roberts hand was there. He gave me a new copy of an old ragged book I had. He said he wanted me to have a good copy so i wouldn't get more confused!

He was very welcoming and reached his hand out to help so many. God bless him and the passage of his soul.

He touched so many lives. He will be long remembered and ever missed.
