Robert "Bob" Edmund Furer MT. PLEASANT - Robert "Bob" Edmund Furer, 68, husband of Elise McMahon Furer of Mt. Pleasant, SC, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2011. A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL. The family will greet friends following the service. Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 3, 1943, son of the late Robert Edmund Furer and Anne Hyland Furer. He received his B.A. degree from Providence College and his M.B.A. from Boston College. He was president of Acme Frame Products in Chicago, IL and Tutwiler, MS; and was president of Bonny Products in Washington, NC. Bob was Chairman of the National Housewares Manufacturing Association from 1988-1989 and was Chairman of International Housewares Association in 1989. In his retirement he enjoyed serving as a Ranger at Wild Dunes Golf Club. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elise M. Furer of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his children, Christopher Daniel Furer of Durango, CO, Michelle Martha Furer and her husband, Virgil Petrie of Minneapolis, MN, and Ryan Robert Furer of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his grandchildren, Grace Holland Petrie, Robert Virgil Petrie, and Zoe Theresa Viana Furer. He is also survived by his brother, Royal Furer and his wife, Victoria Buckley of PA; and his two sisters, Barbara Ann Furer and Mary Patricia Furer, both of GA.
