Robert Eason Obituary

Rev. Robert H. Eason VERMILLION, SD - Word has been received of the death of Rev. Robert H. Eason of Vermillion, SD on April 7, 2010. Son of the late Herbert and Ray Eason, he was a native of Charleston and a 1941 graduate of the College of Charleston. Eason saw naval service for 3 1/2 years during WWII, participating in the invasions of Sicily, Salerno and Normandy, and 2 years during the Korean Conflict. A graduate of Boston University School of Theology, he served UM churches in NC and VA until his retirement in 1985. He leaves his wife Helen of 64 years, two children, four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Local survivors are a brother Hugh of Sullivan Island and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Vermillion, memorials may be directed to the church for the Welcome Table Backpack Program at 16 N.
