Robert Alan Dolson Kiawah Island - Robert Alan Dolson entered eternal peace on January 28, 2022. The family will celebrate his life at Johns Island Presbyterian Church on July 31st at 1 o'clock. A reception will be held immediately following the service at Cassique Golf Club. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Downtown Chapel. Bob was born in October 1945 in Saint Louis, Missouri to Jane and Frank E. Dolson. He graduated from Southern Methodist University. He served for 18 years as chairman and president of National Enterprises and Continental Water Company of Saint Louis, a group of public utilities. He organized their sale to American Water Works. After his first retirement, he was named president and chief operating officer of US Sugar Corporation. Based in Clewiston, Florida, it was the nation's largest producer of cane sugar and the largest producer of not-from-concentrate orange juice. Following Bob's second retirement, he and his wife, Jeannie, moved to Kiawah Island, South Carolina. He was active in the Kiawah Conservancy, local government, Historic Charleston and president of the committee, which established Fisher House in Charleston, South Carolina. He loved sailing, bridge , and swimming. His real life achievement was his love for his four grandchildren, Joseph, Johannes, Elizabeth and Carlyn Boellhoff. He called their visits "Camp Dolson". Robert is survived by his wife, Jeannie, daughters, Allison Reese of Charleston SC, and Megan Boellhoff of Bielefeld, Germany, as well as son-in-law, Michael Boellhoff, four grandchildren and his brother and sister-in-law, Rodger and Maureen Dolson, of Omaha, Nebraska.
