Robert "Bob" Francis Daly Mt. Pleasant - Robert "Bob" Francis Daly, 83, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Geraldine Cline Daly, died Tuesday, August 16, 2016. His Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2016 in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends in the Mount Pleasant Chapel one hour prior to the service. Bob was born October 23, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Frank Patrick Daly and the late Anna Marie Klinosky Daly. He received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Bob's long career included working for the United States Senate's Office of Technology Assessment and he was a lifetime member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He was the author or co-author of over 20 publications and was listed in the American Men and Women of Science. Bob was a marathon runner, expert do-it-yourselfer, excellent cook and avid reader. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed by his family. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Daly of Mt. Pleasant, SC; son, Robert F. Daly, II (Alison) of Asheville, NC; three daughters, Maura Daly (Mark) of Richmond, CA, Cathleen Daly of Berkeley, CA, and Shannon Daly Marchell (Richard) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Charlotte Marchell, Jackson Marchell, and Holden Marchell; four sisters, Mary Ann Jedrejcak, Lori Coons, Carolyn Daly, and Franny Richardson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bernard Daly, and a sister, Pat Clarke.
