I met Bob in March of 1991 in the early preplanning days of the 777 down in Renton. He was a young shop general supervisor and I was a 1st year IE. On April 24th he celebrated his 33rd birthday at work in the 10-18 building and that is when I found out he was 8 years older than me to the day! He was a natural, inspirational and visionary leader who always spoke the truth whether it was politically acceptable or not or good for his career or not. After he left the 777 I ran into him occasionally at work and at Don Ihry´s funeral much later. And lastly in Everett while I was in 787 Final Assy helping to plan for the Charleston Final Assy plant and he was universally respected senior operations strategic advisor on the 787 Charleston implementation. He was easy to befriend, was optimistic, hard working, serious when appropriate, loyal to his friends, and I enjoyed his frequent good humor. It felt like he spoke to everyone, whether senior management or front line workers the same, and treated us all with respect.
I was looking forward to catching up with him at some future Boeing gathering and am very sad to recently hear of his untimely passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Tracey, Bob was such a sweet man. He will be missed by all of us here in The Refuge. He became the meet and greet for not only humans but our furry buddies as well. He was rarely ever without a treat for our pups.
