Bobby, Susan, Ann & Family - I remember your father from Bobby & Susan's wedding reception and Caroline's Christening reception at Susan's parents' home, and remember what a kind and caring person he was and how he was so attentive to your mother and to the children. I also remember seeing him nearly every day at S & S Cafeteria eating his lunch, chatting with friends and greeting everyone who passed. You were so fortunate to have such a possitive influence in your lives. He is now with your mother in Heaven, watching over each and every one of you. May God Bless--

My memories of Bob Cale are from childhood. When the Cale family visited relatives in Florida, Bob would always take the time to have a conversation with the children. This speaks volumes about his character.

I will always remember Bob as a kind and thoughtful man with the everpresent pipe. In my mind, the pipe is an extension of Bob; I cannot imagine him without it.

Bob will be missed by all who knew him. We are all enriched for having known him.

Mr. Cale was indeed an extraordinary man. I worked with him at First Federal for many years. I remember his gentle and professional manner. He was always friendly and made time to talk with his employees. He often smoked his pipe at the office (before the days of smoke free work places), so we always knew when he was coming our way. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

I was asked by my parents, Ray and Louisa Lee, Mr. Cale's next-door neighbors, to make an entry in this guestbook - and thus I am - they remember him as a decent man, a quiet (and thus agreeable!) neighbor, and good provider for his family. They don't get out much these days, especially my mom, due to advanced age, so they and I are happy that this forum exists.

I would also like to give my condolences to Bobby and Nancy; your dad was all of the things my parents wanted to say about him, and more. I especially am amazed at the restraint he exercised by never - I mean never - complaining to me or my parents about the loudness of my electric guitar playing when I was a teen! Especially during the summer, when the windows were open. I apologize my lack of consideration, and applaud his patient understanding. MY now-teenage son is an aspiring drummer - and I certainly now am trying to exercise some of that understanding myself!

I remember Mr. Cale for his constant pipe smoking and how good those scents smelled wafting through my window. I never took it up, but miss it. I also remember his little Welsh Corgi - I think his name was "Teddy?" and how he took good care of his dog.

You never know how someone's seemingly mundane, everyday, actions may impact someone. Robert Cale, in this very way, certainly impacted my life in a very positive way.

God bless you, Bobby and Nancy.

To the family of Bob Cale,

On behalf of the staff in the Reminiscence Neighborhood at EdenBrook, I would like to express our sympathy. We only got to know Bob Cale for a short time, but he won our hearts! He was truly remarkable and loveable. I am not able to share with you all the stories told from first, second, and third shifts as they all reflect on their time spent with Bob, but I know that you must know each one was filled with love and concern. Thank you for trusting us with his care. He has, in turn, blessed each of us as he touched our lives with his uncanny humor, his gentle smile, and his undying faith. May God bless each of you.
