Dr. Bradham attended The Citadel for two years before enlisting in the Army in 1943. He served as a staff sergeant in Company E, 262nd Infantry, in France and Germany, and received two bronze stars for heroic achievement in connection with military operations in Brittany during WWII. He also developed a commercial blueberry farm, Sweet Blues Berry Farm, and at the age of 81, acquired his aircraft pilot's license. Dr. Bradham's last book, Old Friends, commemorates his later years as a blueberry farmer and his love for our farmland. I provided architectural services for Helen and Randy on the remodeling of their house in Meggett.
I have an autographed copy of the book that he wrote on the U-Boat Fortresses which I found most interesting.
Randy was a wonderful, generous person and made a great contribution to all who met him and will be sorely missed.

My sincere condolences to the family. The Department of Surgery at MUSC benefited greatly from his leadership during a difficult transition. I am privileged and honored to have met him and was able to share a few stories of his achievements. He definitely belonged to the greatest generation. It was always about service without any inclination to seek any type of prominence.
With deep respect
