Robert Bisbano Obituary

Robert Bisbano SUMMERVILLE - Robert F. Bisbano, 80, of Summerville, SC, was born on August 15, 1942 in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Franklin Bisbano and Lena Bisbano (Casio). He attended Hackensack High School in Hackensack, NJ, where he met his wife, Phyllis of 56 years. They were blessed with two sons: Dean and Christian Bisbano. While in high school, Bob was enrolled into the Hackensack High School Hall of Fame. After high school, he went on to Orange County Community College in Middletown, N.Y. Here, he played soccer and that led him to earning an All American. He finished his degree at Montclair State University, graduating in 1967, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. He taught for 32 years in the New Milford Education system predominantly at the New Milford Middle School in New Milford, N.J. He was a highly regarded Middle School teacher. While teaching at the Middle School, he also was the Head High School Coach of Soccer and Baseball. Bob retired to Pawley's Island in 1999. This was his favorite spot to be. For being an avid golfer, he had many golf clubs to choose from. Later, he moved to Summerville in 2006. While in Summerville, Bob was deeply involved with baseball, volunteered coaching at the YMCA, as well as Summerville and N. Charleston Little League and Travel Teams. His greatest joy was coaching baseball and watching the athletics grow in their skills. He was known to all as "Coach Bob". Although sports were his number one priority, he was an avid gardener and voracious reader who enjoyed reading Vince Flynn novels. He also sung in the church choir at St. Theresa Church of Summerville. Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis, two sons: Dean Bisbano (Jeanine) of Summerville, SC and Christian Bisbano (Kelly) of Gainesville, Virginia. His life was enriched forever by his five grandchildren: Tristan Bisbano, Garrett Bisbano, Aidan Bisbano, Gabriella Bisbano and Dalton Bisbano. He was preceded in death by his sister,, Jacqueline Swiston of Hackensack, N.J. and his brother, George Bisbano of Jupiter, Florida. I remember Bob from teaching at New Milford Middle School from 1973-1977. What a great guy and wonderful coach. So sad to hear of his loss. My deepest condolences to his family. It is interesting to learn that he'd been living in Summerville, as it's where my husband and I also lived for many years.
