Robert Baxter Obituary


BAXTER, Robert Robert O. Baxter, 63, of Moncks Corner, SC, a former general contractor for Palmetto Construction, Johnson Building Corp., and Hill Construction, died Thursday at his residence. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon, Jan. 29, 2006, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM this Saturday evening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Hospice of Charleston, 3870 Leeds Ave., Suite 101, Charleston, SC 29405. Mr. Baxter was born Nov. 10, 1942, in Reidsville, GA, a son of Frank Oris Baxter and Audrey Faye Rogers Baxter. He was a US Army veteran and a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He attended Wingate Junior College and received an Associates Degree from Trident Technical College. Surviving are, his wife, Marsha Chandler Baxter; a daughter, Dana P. Kelly and Jim Brodie of Moncks Corner; a son, Robert O. Baxter, II, and his wife, Janel, of Moncks Corner; two sisters, Brenda Brabham and her husband, Ronnie, of Moncks Corner and Wanda Fleming and her husband, Robert, of St. Stephen; his mother-in-law, Mae Chandler; two sisters-in-law, Eva Anderson and her husband, Gary, of Pigeon Forge, TN, and Patty Carter and her husband, John, of Georgetown; two special aunts, Elva Day and Olive Miller.
