BALCERZAK, Robert Robert J. Bob Balcerzak, 72, of Summerville, husband of Patricia Youschak Balcerzak died Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Trident Medical Center. Funeral mass will be held Monday, November 12, 2007 at 11 o'clock at St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church, 11001 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Rite of Committal with Final Commendation will follow in Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville. Friends may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o'clock Sunday evening. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society, 5900 Core Road, Suite 504, North Charleston, SC 29406. Mr. Balcerzak was born September 23, 1935 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, son of the late Walter and Stella Balcerzak. He was a graduate of Fairfield University, Class of 1961. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. He had 25 years of service as a Special Agent with the US Treasury Department and 6 years of service as a Investigator with the 9th Circuit Solicitor's Office. In his younger years, he was active in the community as the Director of St. Ann's Drum and Bugle Corps in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was also a coach of Little League Baseball and mentor with Boy Scouts of America. He was a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church. Surviving in addition to his wife, four sons, Robert Joseph Balcerzak, Jr. and his wife Anna of Shelton, Connecticut, David Peter Balcerzak and his wife Sheri Greenwood, South Carolina, Stephen Michael Balcerzak and his wife Bonnie Lee of Ravenel, South Carolina and Gregory John Balcerzak of Summerville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Matthew and Miranda Balcerzak of Shelton, Connecticut, Drew, Marianna and Alexandra Balcerzak all of Greenwood, South Carolina; one brother, Walter Balcerzak of Vienna, Virginia; one sister, Rita Blakley of Jacksonville, Florida.
