Robert Auringer Obituary

Robert James Auringer MT. PLEASANT - Robert James Auringer, 86, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Eileen Marie O'Donnell Auringer, entered eternal rest Thursday, October 26, 2023. His funeral service will be held November 17, 2023, in the Christ Our King Catholic Church, at 10:30 am. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel. Robert was born April 7, 1937, in Plattsburgh, New York, son of the late Francis Auringer and the late Ethel McManus Auringer. He retired from the United States Postal Service. Robert was an avid woodworker and enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Eileen; two daughters, Lisa Montgomery (Michael) and Diane McCarthy all of Highland, NY; four step-children, Dennis Joseph Ralph of James Island, SC, Daniel James Ralph (Tracy) of Ringwood, NJ, Dianne Cavanaugh (George) of Montgomery, NY, and John David Ralph of Narrowsburg, NY; four grandchildren, Dr. Shaelyn Cavanaugh, Jack Cavanaugh, John Ralph and Alyssa Ralph; two sisters, Madeline Stine of Kingston, NY, and Barbara McCabb of Port Ewen, NY; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Thomas Auringer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Roper St. Francis Hospice, 100 Calhoun Street #210, Charleston, SC 29401.
