Robert Alley Obituary

Robert Benjamin Alley, 65, of Cross, South Carolina, passed away on August 24, 2025. He was born on July 3, 1960, in Gallipolis, Ohio. Robert grew up on James Island, SC, before making his home in Cross, where he settled down with his family. Robert worked as a skilled form carpenter until a work accident in 1996 led to his early retirement. Though his career ended sooner than expected, Robert embraced life fully, spending his days doing the things he loved most. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, time on the lake, collecting treasures, and most of all, making memories with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alley; his daughters, Tiffany Hartwell, Bobbie Jo Taylor (Hunter), and Sophie Lugari (Preston); and his cherished grandchildren, Leanna Alley, Corey "CJ" Hartwell, Johnathan Alexander, Louella Jo Taylor, and Harper Lugari. He is also survived by his siblings, Pamela Kirkendall, Paul Alley, and Greg Alley. Robert was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jazmine Hartwell; his parents, Kenneth and Dolores Alley; and his sister, Patricia Freitas. Robert will be remembered for his humor, wackiness and the love he carried for his family. His legacy lives on through the stories, laughter, and memories shared by those who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Dial-Murray Funeral Home, 300 W. Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461 (843-761-8027) to help with funeral expenses.
