Bubba ,Michael and family, my heart and thoughts are with you . Rita and I go way back to the early 60's and softball and we had a blast! Later in life whenever we would run in to each other we would laugh and talk about the good old days. Rita will always be in some of my favorite memories.

I met Rita through friends and her club. She made the best wings I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. She was a ray of sunshine on the darkest of days. The world will be a sadder place without her or her terrific wings.
Fly high girl.

Sometimes words are not enough when someone you love passes away. Rita meant so very much to myself, my kid Mickey and my service dog Lucky. Rita was the most loving and caring person I've ever known. She made me feel like part of her family during the 13 yrs of knowing her and spending time with her and Rosie dog at her many homes. So many nights we stayed up and talked til morning with her sharing stories of her life and family with me and how she loved each of you. Rita was my family here because my parents lived so far away. Rita was there for me at my best times and lowest times when I lost the ability to walk and required double hip replacement surgeries. She rescued me from my lowest moments and talked to Mickey during his hard times. We worked at her business Déjà Vu II, many times til it closed. Rita and I spend her last few holidays together. Thank you for sharing her with me. The last thing we did together was pray. During the days to come I will keep you all in my prayers. Bubba if I can help in any way just call. May God give you all comfort during this hard time and loss. She was one of a kind.
Always,
Julie Hedden and Lucky dog and Mickey Hedden

Rita. Your heart was bigger than our city. So many of us looked up to you and respected you more than you could have ever grasped. Your legacy will live on in each one of us forever. As you pass through that beautiful rainbow in heaven, look down on us and smile and know your life was an amazing adventure. You have touched so many people along the way. You will never ever be forgotten. You will always be loved and respected. Fly high my wonderful, silly, amazing friend. See you at the end of that beautiful rainbow . Til we meet again.

Rita was always there when you needed a friend. I met her the night I passed my nursing boards in 2012. It was one of my favorite nights with her and friends and that’s how most nights were with her. I looked up to her and was drawn to her energy. Thinking of her this morning, her family and a huge group of friends missing her.

Rita, I will miss you terribly. Your club was a sanctuary during some troubling years. I always felt special and welcome there. I hope that you did not suffer before you passed away. Until we meet again, my friend. xoxo
