I had not seen Richard for many years. But the memories of our Warhorse team of '76 are still strong. Richard always had a smile on his face and was a pleasure to be around. I regret not seeing him more recently. "As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends."

Dear Melody, Blake, and Regan,
Richard was truly blessed to have the three of you in his life and you are all so blessed for having such a courageous husband and father. I have fond memories of Richard while growing up in Barnwell and the one thing that sticks out in my mind was that he always had such a pure heart. Matthew 5:8 says "Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God."

I am sorry to hear of the physical death of Richard. I have worked with him on several different occasions at SRS. I know first hand what a quality guy he is and I know where he is now. Last time I saw him was at Citadel orientation a year ago. God bless your family.

My family and I moved to Barnwell my junior year and I fell in with a quiet group of friends who were not in any "clique" at school. Richard was our quarterback for the school football team. We were worlds apart. However, he always spoke a "hey" or "hi" each time he met me in the hall. I have never forgotten that. He was not phony, he was kind. He will be missed.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. A big hug to you....they always make things better. I hope to see you next time I come to Barnwell. Love to you. Susie
