Skiper, RJ, Brian and Sherry. I was so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. I know how close you all were to him, and I can only imagine how much you are hurting right now.

Your father was a wonderful man. I have SO many fond memories in the Sand dollar.
I know that no words can really ease your pain, but I want you to know that I am thinking of yall and your family during this difficult time. God bless you all!

Richard always seemed to have time to say a few words while standing by the front door of his Sand Dollar club He called me T C. It was not long before every one called me TC. I would stand in the back and listen to the music. I mentioned that he needed a window. It was not long before there was a window. Richard was a good man and will be missed.

A legacy has left us for a better place! My heartfelt sympathy for his family and all other loved ones! NAT

Great memories as a young man playing baseball for him my condolences to all of you!

Richard was one of my favorite cousins. In the past few months, whenever we went to The Dollar , he would be right there on the dance floor ready to dance! He always lit up when he saw cuz Michele & myself! It became harder for him to talk, but, he would point to us and tell Cindy “Family” ! I’ll treasure this as my last time there with him. He loved the Dollar and was there every chance he got just hangin out.
He was a strong man that loved his family dearly. Great times , good memories, and an amazing man that I’m gonna miss terribly. It’s going to be tough walking thru those doors again and not seeing him.
Much love & prayers for Cindy & family during this most difficult time. ❤ Praying for you all to soon find peace as he’s now at peace and with our family in heaven. God has gained another Angel. Until we meet again , I love you cuz Richard!

I am sorry to hear of Richard's passing. He has been my customer for the last 21+ years and was always fun to have a conversation and reminisce with. I am sure he's looking in on everyone and smiling!

Speechless. Grew up on Folly. So many stories, some best untold. Not sure if iconic even describes Big Richard. Legendary for sure! Thanks for all the good times. My deepest condolences to everyone. RIP!

So Sorry for his passing. He was a great man. I met him my 1st time in 1988 when I got stationed here..Been a member ever since and my favorite place to stop in at when I come out to the beach..

Big Richard, a pillar of the Folly Beach community. I met You in 1979, a lot of fond memories. I still have my membershp for the Sand Dollar Social Club that expired in 1979. My condolences to RJ and Skipper.

What a great baseball coach and man. 20 years later I walk into the Sand Dollar, there's coach. He looks up from the bench outside and said how you been doing Fred? Thoughts and prayers are with the family.

It was a honor to know such a fine man.

I knew Richard through playing music at the Sand Dollar. It came as a shock to hear of his passing. I hope for his family, strength during these times of sadness. I only knew Cindy, RJ, and Skip. But the throngs of people that frequented the Sand Dollar all felt like family to me and our band. Richard was always stationed outside the front door sitting on the bench. He ALWAYS acknowledged me when I approached the door. Richard was a quiet but strong man. He will be remembered and missed by many. My condolences and thoughts for his family.
