Dr. Richard Leland "Lee" Morrison, III McClellanville, SC - Dr. Richard Leland (Lee) Morrison, 86, of McClellanville, SC, died peacefully at Embrace Hospice House on December 5, 2021. Doc, as he was known, was born in McClellanville, SC, on April 25, 1935, before moving to Georgetown, SC. He graduated from Winyah High School and then attended The Citadel Military College where he was a proud member of the Regimental Band. He graduated in 1957 and then attended The Medical University of South Carolina Medical College. He graduated in 1961 with a Doctorate of Medicine. It was here that he met the love of his life, Jackie Lavigno Morrison who predeceased him in 2015. After an intern year in Columbia, SC, they moved to Fort Meyer, Virginia, where Lee served in the Army Medical Corp. They moved to Georgetown, SC, in 1965 where he began his practice at The Medical Building that covered over 35 years. He loved his patients and was one of the last doctors to make house calls. He so enjoyed seeing his old patients in later years after retirement. His last place of employment was Palmetto Infusion where he worked part time until finally retiring permanently. He enjoyed fishing, golf, and taking care of his yard. He also loved to travel with his wife, Jackie. He was a member of The Georgetown Cotillion Club, Winyah Indigo Society for Men, The Georgetown Rotary Club, The McClellanville Civics Club, The Medical Board for The Georgetown Hospital, American Medical Association, and held several positions at Duncan Methodist Church in Georgetown. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Leland and Dorothy Plumblee Morrison, and his wife, Jackie Lavigno Morrison. He is survived by his 2 daughters, Elise Morrison of Mt. Pleasant and Roxanne Brittain (Jack) of Tampa, Florida; 2 grandchildren, Micheal Hardee (Emily) and Lawson Hardee (Matthew); a great-granddaughter, Maggie; a brother, Tom Morrison (Nan); 3 nephews, Thomas Morrison (Mabry); Richard Morrison (Liz); and George Morrison (Liz); and a great-nephew, Leland. The family will receive visitors at Mayer Funeral Home in Georgetown Friday, December 10th, from 5pm until 7pm. Social distancing and masks will be required. The burial will be a family graveside service at Brick Church in McClellanville, SC, on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The
