Richard Jones Obituary

JONES, Richard Richard Dick Huntley Jones, 73, of Charleston, SC and husband of Barbara Goodwin Jones, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins, GA. Dick was born May 8, 1935 in Menominee, MI, the son of the late William D. and Margaret McCarthy Jones. Dick retired as a Superintendent with Ruscon Construction Company after 38 years and was also a part-time Instructor at Trident Technical College. He also served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. Dick, who greatly loved his family, was a Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed fishing and traveling. In addition, to his wife Barbara, Dick will be deeply missed by his son Richard Ricky M. Jones and his wife Denice of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his daughter Karen Jones McDermott and her husband Rick of Byron, GA; his brother William Bud J. Jones of Rockford, IL; and his three sisters, Pat Wurtz of Prescott, AZ; Mary Finnan of Pueblo, CO; and Charlene Armstrong of El Paso, TX. Dick will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Emily, Reed, Kristen, and Frank; and his great-grandchildren Skye and Aidan. Memorial visitation with family and friends will be 5:00 7:00 PM, Friday, September 26, 2008 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Chapel. The memorial service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 27, 2008, also at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Chapel. Burial will be private.
