Richard Herndon Obituary

Richard Lee Herndon CHARLESTON - Mr. Richard Lee Herndon, 80, of Charleston, entered into rest Wednesday evening, August 5, 2015, at Pruitt Health Care in Moncks Corner. Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Saturday morning, August 8, 2015, from the graveside at Live Oak Cemetery, South Jefferies Boulevard, Walterboro. Chaplin Janice Meyer, officiating. The family will receive friends following the committal ceremony at the cemetery. Born January 24, 1935, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Yarborough E. Herndon and the late Thelma Bowles Herndon. He served in the United Sates Air Force and was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving are: a brother, James G. Herndon and his wife Joanna Pye Herndon of Summerville; two nephews, Jim Herndon and his wife Renelle of Lexington and Jason Herndon of Summerville; as well as two great nephews, Tyler and Taylor Herndon and a great niece, Jessica Herndon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Henry E. Herndon. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to the charity of one's choice.
