I met Dick, Chief, several years ago through Dixie Youth Baseball as we both served on the South Carolina DYB Board. He was an outstanding man of God and Country. God Bless his family.

My friend has gone before...what am I wanting to say here. Richard and I had both seperated from active duty in 1969. We met at our first UTA in January 1970, enlisting with the 943rd MAG, 300 MAS at CAFB I had arrived here from McGuire AFB - fully qualified C-141A Flight Engineer - where Richard (Dick) had come from maintenance. He then had to complete Flight Engineer Academics and C-141 Transition training in Oklahoma, after which, he was my student for my Instructor FE check ride. Richard and his family were good friends with my family, often socializing and visiting their home. His early organizing of a Reserve Wing baseball team was enthusiastically recieved by the active duty teams and reserve members alike. From then he immersed himself in offiating sports throughout the Charleston area and beyond. Dick was also my flight engineer supervisor for 7 years following my assignment with the 300th MAS over 15 years. Richard was the president of our 315th Alumni Association, guiding the association through many years of succeessful support functions for military members and families and hosting the quarterly gatherings with Heritage Federal Credit Union at the Charleston Club.
How can it be that so many of my former mates are gone and I'm still here, being years older than many that have departed. Life is not choosy for sure.
Maxine, Margie and family, Joyce and I are very saddened, how quickly Richard has departed this life. We pray for your continued faith and be comforted that his was a fruitful, productive part of your lives, that you have many fond memories of the past.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father, Margie. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this time of grieving. I never knew him, but heard the many stories from you. He was such a lucky man to have you as his daughter. Hugs from all of us at JSJ.

Gone from our sight, but never from our Hearts.
A Gentle Giant. A man that cared deeply for others. He shared his knowledge,
his love, and support for many.
CMSGT Richard "Dick" Fuller, I SALUTE YOU.
