When I heard of Rich's passing, I was truly heart broken. I had the honor of working with Rich at the PRC. He was always the gentleman; witty and fun to talk to. To his family: I am so, so sorry for your loss. He was truly a great person. God bless you.

Nanette, I am sorry to read about Richard and sorry for your loss. I knew Richard very well while working there at First District Court. I really enjoyed his company. I saw him sometime back at a gun show here in Albuquerque so I am really saddened to see this. Blessings and prayers to you and the family always.

I first met Richard when he and his mother and sister, Cathy, moved to San Antonio St. We lived across the street from them and became good friends. I also went to St. Mike's but was a year behind Richard in school. At that time there were lots of neighborhood kids and we enjoyed playing football in the street and basketball in our back yard. I remember Richard was instrumental in my developing an interest in hiking in the mountains around Santa Fe and the Pecos wilderness. One summer he suggested we go for a hike up to Sun Mount and Richard, my brother Adrian and I trekked from San Antonio St. up to the top of Sun Mount and back home. Tiring but fun. Although I haven't seen Richard in a number of years I've always remembered those years fondly. Thank you for your service to our great country -- Rest in peace.

Richard was a very special guy and a great asset to law enforcement. He knew everybody in New Mexico. I had the good fortune to see him at the end of June this year, just as he was retiring from the State. We had a good laugh together as always. Richard will sure be missed, but his good spirit will always be with us as he watches over us from above.
