Richard Vernon "Curly" Deas, Sr. N. CHARLESTON - Mr. Richard Vernon "Curly" Deas, Sr., 68, of North Charleston, entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 14, 2015. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015, 9:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion AME Church 5 Glebe Street, Charleston, SC, 29402. There will not be a visitation service for Mr. Deas. He will be laid to rest in Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. Mr. Deas leaves to cherish his memories, his children: Richard Vernon Wright (Veronica), Richard Vernon Deas, Jr. (Brionio), Aponte' Morgan, Maurice Morgan, Vernica Pearson (Charles), Sanchez Cummings; his siblings: Eartha Lee D. Phillips, Lois D. Barnes (James), Jacquelyn Benbow; a special niece, Roxanne P. Wall; special friend, Bernard Coakley and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Carter C. Deas and Viola B. Deas; his children: Richard Vernon Deas, Ruby Deas and Alicia Deas; his siblings: Carlotta D. Green, Gwendolyn D. Vernon was a friend of mine from elementary through high school. We lost touch with each other when he went to the military. This not the way I wanted to get back in touch.
