I served with Richard on USS Leyte Gulf. He had a rough shell but was always ready to teach a young kid like myself. I often remember our talks about experience and philosophy; him from S.C, me from rural Maine. We had a lot in common. I´ll miss you Ike, thank you for your guidance and conversation. My condolences to his family.
