Richard Cherry Obituary

CHERRY Richard D. Cherry, of Mashpee, formerly of Stoughton, Thursday, May 24, he was 76, beloved husband of Joan (Littig) Cherry of 48 years. Survived by his son, Richard A. Cherry of Taunton; two daughters, Lynne and her husband Joseph McGillicuddy of Mashpee and Alison L. Henry of Stoughton; brother, L. David Cherry of Canada; five grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his brother Donald. A funeral home service will be held at noon on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 74 Algonquin Ave. (at Rte. 151), Mashpee. The visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A private burial will held be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202, American Cancer Society, 1115 West Chestnut St., Brockton, MA 02301, Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod, Inc., 270 Communication Way, Hyannis, MA 02601. He will be missed, but know that he will be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him. I was glad to have known him in my childhood and during those "Golden Rays" events. Peace be with you all.
