Richard Blankenbecklor Obituary

Richard Blankenbecklor Moncks Corner - Richard G. Blankenbecklor, 86, of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, widower of Barbara V. Blankenbecklor, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Interment with military honors will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Gotha, FL. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. Northwoods Chapel, 2180 Greenridge Road, North Charleston, SC, 29406. Richard was born July 5, 1930 in Leesburg, Florida, the youngest of five children of the late John F. Blankenbecklor and the late Artie Abston Blankenbecklor. He was a Navy veteran. His long career in fire service included the Orlando, FL; Manning, SC, and Moncks Corner, SC fire departments. He was the first paid fire chief in Moncks Corner and also retired as a crew supervisor for Santee Cooper, Moncks Corner, SC. He is survived by his son, John Clark Blankenbecklor (Kathy) of Hopkins, SC; daughter, Susan B. Robertson (Tommy) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter in law Connie Blankenbecklor of Melbourne, FL; loving companion Lynda Karl and her children and grandchildren; and his 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Richard is predeceased by his four siblings and his son, David G. Blankenbecklor. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Heart Association, 217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA, 23060. Richard was a fireman at Orlando's Pine Hill's Fire Station and was a past President of their Firefighters' Union.
