Gene was a special friend to my father. My dad & I visited Folly several times and Gene & Dingo befriended my dad. They walked together in the mornings and wrote letters and called each other in between our visits. My dad will always think of Gene as one of his greatest friends.

So sorry for your loss we understand that heartache and will certainly miss our friend Gene. As a member of the turtle team many a morning over the years was spent with a little walk and visit with Gene and Dingo. Gene knew where all the nests were and had an arrow in the sand just in case we didn't listen to him close enough. I am so very happy for him that he and Dingo are now forever together where they can once again run and walk and stand with the wind and the stars. God be with you Gene and Family.
