The best police chief ever in Charleston. Wish he was here now. He took his job seriously and did what was best for Charleston. My husband and I only met him once, but you felt he loved being a
policeman. A great man. When we read he was retiring I feel sorry for my Charleston and its people.

Thank you for being in Charleston--cared about the community, schools, streets...He was involved and part of Charleston. Always paving a road to help. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

It was a privelage to have this great police officer in my life. I served along beside him with the Charleston County Sheriffs Office. I'm 84 now and my time may be coming soon. I love you brother.

I would like to express my thanks to the family of Chief Ruben Greenberg for the peace of mind he gave to my mother by his presence in the city as police chief. Living far away, this gave me comfort too. She was always interested in him, spoke of him many times in the most positive way. She felt that he personally provided safety in the city after Hurricane Hugo. He was spectacular in her opinion. I rather think so too. He is gone, but he is certainly not forgotten.
