My deepest sympathies go out to Reka's family during this difficult time. I was Drs. Ellison, DeMasi and Cain's office nurse from 1989-1993. My husband was the architect for Al and Reka's.home. They were always so very generous, inviting us to dinner (Reka was an incredible chef!), for parties and boat rides. And meeting them at their parking space at Clemson games, where Reka again spread out gourmet feasts. I hope your countless memories give you comfort.

Dear DeMasi Family,
I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. DeMasi when Susan was in Roper Hospital for surgical correction of scoliosis. I was a young student nurse and very nervous to be charged with caring for a doctor's child. Your mother was so gracious and lovely. She immediately made me feel at ease. She obviously made a big impression on me as this was 40 years ago!
My prayers will be with your family as you adjust to life without her. She was a very special person.

MawMaw was the world's best grandmother. She taught me and Gabriella how to build rubble sandcastles, play Monopoly and Mexican Train, sing the washing machine song, and let us make fun of her Chico Palazos incessantly. She has a way of bringing people of all different walks of life together and making them life long friends. I am so honored to carry her name with me for the rest of my life and can only hope I end up to be half the wife, mother, grandmother, and friend that she was. I love you and I will miss you MawMaw!

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. Miss Reka taught me how to bet on a horse, the importance of good fried chicken and an after dinner cocktail. I always think of her when we have people over because I use our monogrammed silver pitcher she gave us as a wedding gift. <3
