Reid had been long established at Southern Bell when I started my career. I will remember his always having time to stop and speak if he saw you working. He set the bar for how you should treat people and live your life. He will be missed.

Dear Taffy & Family,
Reid brightened our lives at Lifeline and so many lives in our community through his years of volunteering. He truly made a difference by selflessly giving his time, knowledge, and wisdom so that others could live safely. Reid will remain in our hearts and memories forever as a true guardian of humanity.

Taffy, I was very sad to hear of Reid's death. I enjoyed working with him at Southern Bell, especially when he was the transmission expert. Jeanelle and I always enjoyed seeing you the times we were all at Shealy's BBQ.
I pray GOD will bless you and your family and HIS peace be with you always.

Reid was one of the most impressive people I have ever met. He was quiet, but strong and never pretentious. We didn't see nearly enough of them but I fell in love with Taffy and Reid from the first time I met them after I married Robert (Butch). It was always such a joy when they showed up in Shelby and we were sorry when they left that we couldn't just make them stay here! Reid was a true "Southern Gentleman"---a gentle man---if there ever was one! I feel that it was a privilege to have known Reid. Jean Silver

Dear Taffy and Family: I was sincerely sorry to hear about Reid. He was a good man and will be missed by all of us who worked around him at Southern Bell. I always remember how he asked about my eldest son, Billy Leopard each and every time I saw him. He will also be missed by those of us in the Pioneers and the BellSouth Retirees Club for his work and efforts with us.

My love and heartfelt sympathy goes out to you, Taffy, Sadie and family.
I have sweet childhood memories of visits from the "Charleston cousins" with their delightful low country brogues and visits to the Silver's house a block away. (My grandfather was M.Q. Hamrick, brother to Palma) My mother, Marie Hamrick Willson and her brother, James Lehman Hamrick, always spoke very highly of Reid, their 1st cousin, and enjoyed visits from all of you. Prayers and healing thoughts go to you. Be blessed.

Taffy, my heart is so sad for you and your family. I could not believe it when I spoke with Sis last night. It seems like only yesterday I was dancing with Reid at my wedding (and that's been almost six years ago). Know that you are always in my prayers and thoughts. I love you both - God Bless Us All.
